What a man...sensitive and very understanding, I feel safe in his hands and he has my best intentions at heart. I feel I have learnt so much with him already. If you are seeking someone as you journey through the dark and into the light this is your man. Thank you.
Howard is always one hundred percent there, is an impeccable listener and his insights have had a profound impact on my life and relationships. I cannot recommend him more highly.

I started psychotherapy with Kate Jacques at a time in my life when I was struggling with a number of personal experiences that had caused me long-term depression and anxiety. Up to this point, I had previously seen five different counsellors through the NHS in a time-limited process across a 14 year period. I felt on each of these occasions that the pressure to open-up and address my issues in a time-constrained period (usually 6 weeks) always left me feeling more vulnerable at the end of the sessions and consequently, even more alone and worthless. ...and then I met Kate Jacques. During my introductory session, I was immediately made to feel comfortable and accepted and I was able to build a client/therapist relationship at my own pace, sharing things only when it felt comfortable. It really didn't take long to realise that I had found exactly what I needed. Kate is well-qualified and experienced in a plethora of therapeutic approaches and she draws on an extensive knowledge base to address my issues in a way that is best for me. She is well-read in her field and, as an avid reader, I have taken up many of her literature recommendations (without coercion) which have helped me to further build on our sessions whilst at home. Kate is respectful of my boundaries and always embracing of my requests to use personal interests and strengths to gain the most out of our sessions e.g. I loathe even the thought of role-play but find drawing a naturally calming and reflective activity. As such, Kate welcomes my incorporating art into our sessions together and steers clear of role-play related approaches! I have never felt pressured to keep returning and am able to book appointments that suit my working hours and family life. I have been a client of Kate's since 2013 and within this time period I have had appointments at 3-week intervals, fortnightly, weekly and twice-weekly during a particularly difficult period in my life. There is no need to be experiencing a personal crisis to gain from psychotherapy, I sought out Kate Jacques when I was addressing flashbacks from childhood abuse, however the positive gains from discussing work issues, confidence lapses in my role as parent, and personal relationships are commensurate. Kate is incredibly friendly and affable and 100% non-judgemental and works to improve life experiences in any area felt to be lacking.
